Stop by--we'll be in booth #127.

Enchanted and Texas

January 2015 - Connecting Threads has two of my designs in their new catalog. The quilt shown above left has a southwestern look to me, so I named it Enchanted Mesa. Above right is Texas Cross Roads; a variation of the Crossroads block and the Texas block were combined to create the design. Patterns are available at www.connectingthreads.com.

Ginni blog image

December 2014 - I did a variation of this design as a commission. Ginni wanted to replicate it, so I wrote the pattern for her. The design is theme/memory quilt friendly, as illustrated in the Cool Cats quilt at right; novelty fabrics or fabric photos are "framed" in the quilt center. Large scale fabrics could be used too, as seen at left. The fabrics used in this quilt are from the Royal Tea collection by Connecting Threads. The pattern includes instructions for two sizes and is available at Connecting Threads.

Diamond Trellis1

September 2014 - I don't use black much in my designs, but I just love the way it's used in the Midnight collection by QuiltingTreasures, so came up with this quilt. Quiltmaker features it in their Nov/Dec 2014 issue. Photo by Quiltmaker.

Island Breeze

June 2014 - This quilt was designed to evoke the look of an old fashioned quilt or coverlet. Fabrics from the Isle of Enchantment collection were perfect in creating the look I wanted. Pattern is available from Connecting Threads. Photos by Connecting Threads.

Wave Runner

June 2014 - The August/September 2014 issue of Sew-it...today will feature a bed runner and pillow design that I did in a beautiful aqua and grey color way. This project is an easy and quick way to change the look of a room. Photo by Sew-it...Today.

Windmill Stars

March 2014 - This quilt has such a wonderfully subtle beauty. The fabrics are from the Golden Age collection by Connecting Threads. Close quilting adds a great texture. Pattern and fabrics available at www.connectingthreads.com. Photos by Connecting Threads.

Rhapsody in Reds

March 2014 - The Rhapsody of Reds collection by Connecting Threads proved so popular the company re-released it recently. I'm not surprised; it is one of the most beautiful and striking collections I've designed with. Above left is an image of a quilt featured in the Feb/March 2014 issue of Sew-it...today magazine. Above right is an image of the Nine Patch Maze quilt I did using my pattern by the same name, available from Connecting Threads.

Zeta quilt

December 2013 - The past few weeks have been spent quilting quilts to be given as gifts. Some were those made by others that I quilted. Others were memory quilts that were commissioned, made from t-shirts and/or clothing owned by a loved one. I so love working on these projects, as these are gifts with special meaning. A lot of thought and love was "poured into", as a friend says, into these gifts. One of the memory quilts I made is pictured above. It's a t-shirt quilt composed of sorority t-shirts the recepient collected while in college.

Summer Stars Glamour 2

October 2013 - Connecting Threads features this quilt in their new catalog. The blocks create a wonderful secondary design and starburst effect. The fabrics used are from the Lasting Legacies collection. Pattern available at www.connectingthreads.com. Photo by Connecting Threads.

Tribute to Virginia

September 2013 - Two classic blocks, Virginia and Star of Virginia, combine to form this design. I especially like this quilt because I'm a Virginia native and I love blue quilts. Fabrics are from the Indigo Patchwork collection by Connecting Threads. The pattern is available from Connecting Threads.

mellwood art fair poster

The Mellwood Art Center in Louisville, Kentucky, will be hosting an Art Fair on September 7 and 8. Carvin' Artist Bob Gibson, my husband, and I will be exhibiting at the fair and invite you to view--and purchase--the art that will be on display. This weekend would be a great time to visit the Center; in addition to the Art Fair the Center will host The Art of the Quilt exhibit during the month of September.
